Semi-finals and final on Wednesday 2nd October
at Blackmoor Golf Club.
Winners North Hants
In the first semi-final Hockley represented by Helen Bailey, Alison Baker and Chris Quinn all had very tight matches against North Hants who were represented by Aimee Paterson, Jenny Kershaw and Georgina Carter. Aimee gave North Hants the lead, Jenny Kershaw and Alison Baker went up the 19th with Jenny winning so North Hants progressed to the final. The match between Chris Quinn and Georgina Carter ended on the 18th with a win for Hockley.
The second semi-final was equally hard fought. Brokenhurst were represented by Chris Urry, Aileen Simpson and Nicki Hatch while Lucy Burke, Jo Wright and Dawn Hodge represented Shanklin & Sandown. Lucy Burke gave Shanklin & Sandown the first win and again the second match between Jo Wright and Aileen Simpson went up the 19th with Jo winning to take them through to the final.
Dawn completed hat trick for Shanklin & Sandown with a win on the 18th.
A quick lunch time turnaround and the afternoon final between North Hants and Shanklin & Sandown started at 1.15. The first match between Aimee Paterson (North Hants) and Lucy Burke (Shanklin & Sandown) was close at the start with them all square after five holes. Aimee then pulled ahead and was two up by the turn. Aimee did not let her grip on the match slacken and won 5 & 4 to give North Hants the lead. The second match between Jenny Kershaw (North Hants) and Jo Wright (Shanklin & Sandown) had the same result giving North Hants the trophy. The final match between Georgina Carter (North Hants) and Dawn Hodge (Shanklin & Sandown) was very close with them all square on the 13th green when they were called in.
